Sweet sounds of Truls Mørk filled the room as he interpreted the Dvorak cello concerto in the Dr. Anton Philipszaal with such grace and beauty. I was fortunate to hear part of a rehearsal and the opening night concert on November 21st, 2014. The Residentie orkest was celebrating its 110th year, and did so with an excellent program and performance. The hall was full, and even the Queen of the Netherlands was in attendance. Upon approaching the event, a Russian folk music group played standards and photographers crowded around the entrance waiting for the Queen.
Rehearsal of Dvorák Cello Concerto. Neeme Järvi, conductor, and Truls Mørk, cello. Attended the concert the next night. Such a beautiful performance. Program included: H. Andriessen “Ricercare”, Dvorák “Celloconcert”, andShostakovich “Symfonie nr. 5”.
Recording: Hall in Dr Anton Philipszaal in Den Haag. November 20, 2014
