Frolic, for solo marimba, captures the many playful moods of this beautiful instrument. Mischievous, lyrical and sustained passages showcase the variety of expression that can be produced on the marimba. I wrote this piece for Kelly Merka Nelson in a Czech palace in Prague in the summer of 2009 at the Czech-American Summer Music Institute with Ladislav Kubik.
