Rhapsody for oboe & harp

Rhapsody, composed for my friend Teil Buck, oboe, explores an intimate conversation between the two players. I wanted this piece to have a free and fluid feel, so I wrote many phrases without meter, and then added in appropriate barlines for ensemble playing. For the harp pedaling I exploited the harp’s capacity for enharmonic tunings to create opportunity for repeated notes and specific pitch collections.
