In this piece I explored ostinato figures and the juxtaposition of two ways to collaborate: using music of melody and accompaniment and passages where the two players share a single line. Harmonies for much of the piece were derived from the quartal/quintal pitch collection of the opening melody, and these harmonies drive the groove despite myriad meter changes.

Special thanks to my friend Kelly Merka Nelson for testing out even the earliest versions with me.
